Sylhet Correspondent: Five individuals, including a child, were killed when a truck rammed into a private car on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at Unishmile area under Osmaninagar upazila of Sylhet on Sunday (February 2).
Four of the deceased were identified as Sohel, 40, Shamima, 40, Ety Begum, 35, and Ayan, 7, while the identity of another victim could not be known yet.
Quoting locals, Osmaninagar police station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Monayem Mia said members of a family were going to Sylhet from Narayanganj. The accident occurred around 7:30 am when a truck hit the private car, leaving two people killed on the spot and three others injured of the car.
Later, the injured were sent to local hospital where the other victims succumbed to their injuries.
