Marking the 8th death anniversary of celebrated playwright, writer and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed, different television channels are set to air various programmes, such as musical show, tele-drama and film—mostly written and directed by the wordsmith.
Channel i will air Humayun Ahmed’s film ‘Noy Number Bipod Sanket’ at 3:05pm today. The film casts Asaduzzaman Noor, Rahmat Ali, Challenger, Jayanta Chattopadhyay, Parveen Sultana Diti, Tania Ahmed, Shadhin Khosru and Maznun Mizan, among others. Channel i will also telecast Humayun Ahmed’s popular drama ‘Mayabati’ at 7:50pm today. Directed by Humayun Ahmed, the drama stars Mahfuz Ahmed, Bipasha Ahmed, Faruq Ahmed, Dihan and Mozammel Hossain, among others.
In remembrance of the connoisseur of drama, NTV will telecast a live talk show titled ‘Khola Janala’ at 9pm. Popular actors Abul Hayat, Tariq Anam Khan and Dr Ejajul Islam, who had the chance to work very closely with Humayun Ahmed, will participate as guests in the show. Joining the show, they will share their fond memories of Ahmed and highlight the life and work of the celebrated playwright-director. The show will be anchored by Mousumi Mou.
Meanwhile, Mad Theatre, a popular theatre troupe, will host a virtual commemorative programme titled ‘Bhalobashi Humayun’ on Facebook at 9pm tonight.
Young singer Nandita will perform in a Facebook live show titled ‘Ghore Bose Gaan Shonabo’, hosted by Prothom Alo, at 10:30pm. Remembering the brilliant lyricist who enriched the world of Bengali songs with many beautiful songs, Nandita will sing several popular songs of Humayun Ahmed like ‘Amar Bhanga Ghorer Bhanga Chala’, ‘Je Thake Ankhi Pallaba’, ‘Amar Ache Jol’, ‘Cholo Na Brishti-te Bijhi’ and ‘Jodi Mon Kade’.
