Indians, stranded in various parts of Bangladesh, continue to return through various check-posts in parts of Assam and Tripura.
On Thursday, 134 more Indian citizens returned on Thursday through Akhaura check-post in Tripura.
These people were stranded in Bangladesh due to the coronavirus pandemic and the subsequent lockdown.
On May 28, a total of 129 Indians had returned from Bangladesh through the Akhaura check-post.
Officials strictly followed the hygiene rules and the returnees were thoroughly screened.
These returnees will now be sent to quarantine and their swab samples will be collected.
If the swab sample test reports come negative for COVID-19, they would be allowed to go home.
If the test reports come positive for COVID-19, the returnees will be treated in various COVID care hospitals of the state.
So far 1,138 persons in Tripura have tested positive for COVID-19, which is second in the northeast after Assam.nenow
