The government on Monday extended the tenure of contractual appointments of six ambassadors to Bangladesh missions abroad.
The service contracts of the six diplomats have been extended until July 31 this year, according to a public administration ministry notification.
Of the six, tenure of ambassador to Brunei Air-Vice Marshal (Retd) Mahmud Hussain expired in December 18 last year, ambassador to Saudi Arabia Golam Moshi on January 25 and ambassador to Kuwait SM Abul Kalam ended on April 19 this year.
The tenure of Abdus Sobhan Sikder as the ambassador to Italy expired on June 1, of Shameem Ahsan as the ambassador and permanent representative of Bangladesh to the United Nations Offices in Geneva on June 5, and of Abu Maqsod Md Farhad as the ambassador to Iraq expired on May 25 this year.BSS
