The Maharaja Bir Bikram (MBB) Airport, in Tripura on May 29 has resumed its first domestic flight service with Indigo Airlines Flight from Kolkata to Agartala after a gap of nearly two months due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Flight services in other airports began resuming from May 25, Agartala Airport could not operate any flight due to the damages caused by Cyclone Amphan at the Kolkata’s Netaji Subash Chandra International Airport.
MBB Airport Director VK Seth said that the airport authorities have made a proper arrangement and full-proof medical screening apparatus to check all the incoming and outgoing passengers.
He said as a precautionary measure sanitization, disinfection, and cleaning is going on across the premises round the clock.
MBB Airport had received approval for six flights from the Ministry of Civil Aviation -Agartala-Kolkata, Guwahati-Agartala-Kolkata and Banglore-Kolkata-Agartala routes.
