The cost for performing Hajj has increased by Tk 59,000 per person.
This cost will add to the Hajj package which was earlier announced by the religious affairs ministry and Hajj Agency Association of Bangladesh (HAAB).
The minister for religious affairs Md Faridul Haque Khan announced the new decision at a press conference at the secretariat on Thursday.
According to the latest decision, an aspiring Haji will have to pay a minimum of Tk 522,744 for performing Hajj under private agencies.
An aspiring Haji, under government management, will have to pay minimum Tk 521,150 which was earlier Tk 462,150, the minister said.
An intended Haji will have to pay Tk 586,340 for category A.
Flights carrying Bangladeshi pilgrims to Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj will begin from 5 June.
This year, a total of 57,856 pilgrims will be able to perform Hajj from Bangladesh.
