A Bangladeshi writer has been honoured by ‘Motivational Strips’ and ‘Gujarat Sahitya Akademi’ on the occasion of the 74th Independence Day of India.
Zahirul Haque was among the 350 writers from 80 countries honoured by the two literary institutions recently.
One of the most active writers’ forum in the world having representation from 163 countries ‘Motivational Strips’ joined hands with India’s prominent literary institution ‘Gujarat Sahitya Akademi’ to identify and award national and international talents.
Akademi chairman Padma Shree Dr. Vishnu Pandya and Strips founder Shiju H pallith Pallithazheth handed down the awards.
A poet, fiction writer, researcher and artist Zahirul Haque, who has 12 literary works to his credit, was among the awardees.
Born on April 3, 1965 in Kumrakhali village of Barguna district, Zahirul Haque obtained his MA degree in Bangla from the University of Dhaka in 1991 and is currently working as an associate professor of Bangla at Cambrian College, Dhaka. Source: The Independent
