Entertainment News Desk: Birthday of Farida Akhtar Poppy, popularly known as Babita, who gained fame in country and across the world through the movie “Ashani Sanket” directed by Satyajit Ray passed off Wednesday (July 30).
She celebrated her birthday in Canada where her son lives.
Born on July 30, the ‘Ashani Sanket’ fame actress is now staying in Canada with her son. Her only son Anik has been staying in Canada for a few years. Babita’s son has bought a house in the country. Every year, the actress goes there for celebrating her birthday.
Babita was star in many famous movies including Golapi Ekhon Traine, Noyon Moni, etc.
Prior to birth celebration, the actress said “Anik will take me for a walk on the occasion of my birthday. I, along with my son Anik, will go to Toronto spending the day in the city.”
On August 4, the actress will be given Lifetime Achievement Award by the Mayor of Dallas for her outstanding contribution in the film industry. “Bengali Film Festival of Dallas will start with Babita starrer film ‘Noyon Moni’.
About the award, the actress said “This is a big achievement.”
