Community News Desk: A Bangladeshi youth named Win Rozario (22) was killed by the police in New York, USA.
The young man was shot by the police at his home in Ozone Park. Later, he was taken to hospital, where duty doctors declared him dead.
However, the father of the victim claimed that his innocent son was killed by the police.
According to a report of us media CBSnews, Police said it started when the 19-year-old man called 911 for himself, saying that he was experiencing a mental crisis. It ended in his death.
Police said they were initially called to a two-family home on 103rd Street off 101st Avenue in Ozone Park around 1:30 p.m. for reports of an emotionally disturbed person inside.
Police said officers found the man on the second floor of the building, and when they tried to take him into custody, they say he grabbed a pair of scissors and came at the officers.
The police deployed their stun devices, which worked, but they said the man’s mother then came to his aid and accidentally knocked the prongs off of him.
“At this point, the male picked up the scissors again, came at our officers, and they had no choice but to defend themselves, discharging their firearms,” NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell said.
Francis Rozario said that their family immigrated to New York from Bangladesh 10 years ago.
