The opposition alliance Ganatantra Manch leaders alleged that the government is threatening and luring the opposition leaders to participate in the upcoming 12th parliamentary election.
They came up with the statement while speaking at a post procession rally in front of the Jatiya Press Club in the capital on Wednesday.
Starting from the front of the Purana Paltan Rashtra Sangskar Andolon office, the procession held a brief rally at the Jatiya Press Club, after parading Bijayanagar and Purana Paltan.
“The government is now trying to divide the leaders from the opposition camp by using the state forces to participate in the elections by giving threats and various forms of greed. But this will not save them in the end,” Saiful Huq, a leader of the coalition said.
He said this time the government will not be able to hold elections without voting like in 2014 or 2018.
“Those who will join the polls due to greed now will be established as unscrupulous, betrayer and brokers before the nation. People will continue the movement for voting rights and to ensure the fall of this government,” Saiful Huq said.
Chaired by Faridul Haque, the rally was addressed among others by alliance leaders Shahid Uddin Mahmud Swapan, Shahidullah Kaiser, Habibur Rahman Riju and Julhasnain.
