Rabindranath and John Wilbert: Although there is no clear majority for BJP or Congress in PBMC elections, in Zilla Parishad Elections, the voters have however given a clear majority to BJP in South Andaman Zilla Parishad and Congress in North and Middle Andaman Zilla Parishad.
Till late evening official results have not been provided to media authorities but according to details gathered here in South Andaman Zilla Parishad out of 18 seats, BJP won 10 seats while Congress won 8 seats.
In North and Middle Andaman Zilla Parishad out of 17 seats Congress won 9 seats, BJP 6 seats while Independent candidates won 2 seats.
Now political equations are being planned by both the major parties and opportunities are being assessed by Independent candidates in PBMC, SAZP and N and M ZP for the first term.
If everything goes right there will be a BJP Chairperson in South Andaman Zilla Parishad and there will be a Congress Chairperson in North and Middle Andaman Zilla Parishad. But the picture is still not clear in PBMC, where any moment equation might change as there is no clear majority. Detailed report regarding Zilla Parishad results is still awaited.
