Bongo, one of the leading digital entertainment platforms in Bangladesh, wins the CJFB Performance Award for the Most Popular Streaming Platform, says a press release.
The 19th edition of the award ceremony was held on July 25. CJFB Performance Award, a Bangladeshi film and music award formed by the Cultural Journalists’ Forum of Bangladesh, hosts the prestigious ceremony to recognise the emerging talents along with the trail blazers of the industry.
Bongo manages the YouTube channel of Tawhid Afridi, who wins the ‘Best YouTuber’ award too.
“This is a testament to the work Bongo is doing to build the video streaming ecosystem in Bangladesh. Bongo has been building the video streaming ecosystem over the last 6 years, in terms of technology, infrastructure and content including copyright development and management of content. We are thankful for the recognition from CJFB. Without their support, and media recognition, Bongo could not have come this far,” said Fayaz Taher, Chief Operating Officer at Bongo.
Viewers can access Bongo through their IOS/Android app, website, and Android TV app locally and globally. Bongo is a homegrown Bangladeshi startup that began in 2013 from a rooftop and is now competing with companies such as YouTube, Facebook and Netflix.UNB
