Entertainment Desk: Bangladeshi full-length films “Eti Chittra” and “Ajob Chhele” will be screened today at the ongoing 22nd Dhaka International Film Festival.
Directed by Raisul Islam Anik, the film “Eti Chittra” will be screened at the Sufia Kamal Auditorium of Bangladesh National Museum in the capital at 7:00pm while “Ajob Chhele” by Manik Manobik will be shown at the National Art Gallery Auditorium of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy (BSA) at 5:00pm.
The film “Eti Chittra”, set in a village in the ‘90s. The movie was shot in different locations of the country, including Meherpur, Chuadanga and Khulna.
The film stars Rakib Hossain Evon, Jannatul Ritu, Naresh Bhuiyan, Farhad Limon, Moniruzzaman Moni, Sohana Sarmin, Loba Ahmed, Sheikh Swapna, British Babu, Tamim Iqbal, Shahin Mridha, Kamal Khan and others.
On the other hand, based on popular writer Muhammed Zafar Iqbal’s novel with the same title, “Ajob Chhele” revolves around a strange boy. The film progresses with his sufferings and emotional journey for his mother.
Ridwan Siddique has played the title role in the film. Tauquir Ahmed, Sazu Khadem, Tahmina Authoi and others have also played different roles in the movie.
“Ajob Chhele” was released in theatre on 17 November.
Besides “Eti Chittra” and “Ajob Chhele”, a good number of films, including South Korean Movie “Peafowl” directed by Sungbin Byun, Russian film “Knots” by Oleg Khamokov, “The Great Distance Delivers Crane” by Lhapal Gyal of China, Georgian film “Liza Go On”, Iranian film “Discreet Devotion” by Mahtab Soleimani, Indian film “Mahishasur Marddini”, “Places of the Soul” by Hamida Issa of Qatar, “The Path” by Kulunakov Mickhail Leonidovich of Russia, Bangladeshi short film “Shadhinota, Ai Shobdoti Kibhabe Amader Holo” by Shamim Al Amin, “Seven Citrus Aurantium” of Iran and “Rahas Kiyana Kandu” by Sri Lankan director Jagath Manuwarna will be screened at different venues in the capital.
The 22nd edition of Dhaka International Film Festival (DIFF) began on Saturday, with the slogan “Better Film, Better Audience, Better Society”.
A total of 252 films from 74 countries are being screened in various sections, including Asian Cinema, Retrospective, Tribute, Wide Angle, Bangladesh Panorama, Cinema of the World, Children Films, Women Filmmakers, Short and Independent Films, and Spiritual Films at the nine-day festival.
