Humanity is the most important part of our human’s life. In the world, someone is poor and rich. It is reality. However, organ donation is very easy. We can save another life by it.
It is good to hear that one has received a donated organ and the other has survived. His name is Lin Wenchun. Recently in Nanfang, in the eastern Chinese province of Fujian, the handsome and outwardly healthy boy has survived with his various limbs, not one, but six!
The small heart is pounding in the chest of another baby. The baby survives by brightening the parent’s arms. Lynn Wenchun’s lungs, kidneys and liver saved five more lives.
Spain is at the forefront of voluntary organ donation, Out of every 1 million people in the country, the number of voluntary organ donors is 46.91.
The next four places are the United States (36.88 people), Croatia (34.63 people), Portugal (33.8 people) and France (33.25 people).
On February 2, 2019, there were 120,000 patients in the United States who needed some other organ to save their lives. But the number of organ donors was relatively low. In fact, even today the number of voluntary organ donors is relatively low, although public opinion is in favour of voluntary organ donation worldwide. The number of voluntary organ donors is also increasing in China. The sale and purchase of human organs is completely banned in China.
In this country, human organs can be donated under different conditions. In 2010, the Chinese government set up a voluntary organ donation system. In 2014, the government launched a website to register voluntary organ donors. Donors can register their names on the website. And the donated human organs are automatically distributed by the ‘China Organ Transplant Response System’. In this case, there was no chance of nepotism or corruption.

In 2016, 169,860 Chinese volunteers registered as organ donors. Since then this number has increased by leaps and bounds. In June 2021, the number of voluntary organ donors registered in China stood at over 3.5 million. The problem is, according to a 2015 estimate, 10 to 1.5 million people in China need an organ transplant every year, but only 10,000 people actually get it. The Chinese are far ahead in voluntary blood donation compared to voluntary organ donation. In 1998, the voluntary blood donation law came into force in China. By law, healthy citizens between the ages of 18 and 55 can donate blood voluntarily.
The Chinese government has also set up 452 blood supply centres across the country for voluntary blood donation. Since then, as the number of voluntary blood donors has increased, so has the amount of blood collected through voluntary blood donation programmes. In 1998, an average of 10,000 Chinese donated blood at 4.8 units, which increased to 11.1 units in 2020.
In other words, the Chinese donated 55 million bags of blood in 2020 and more than 51 million units of blood from January to April 2021 in the wake of the Covid epidemic. Experts point out the existence of misconceptions or common misconceptions in the society about voluntary organ donation. According to them, the number of voluntary organ donors will increase faster once this misunderstanding ends. They are also emphasizing on raising public awareness.
In August 2015, the government issued the first national guideline in this regard to raise public awareness and improve the existing legal system. Experts say that social movement is necessary to raise public awareness and create a positive attitude among the people about organ donation. In this case, the media, especially the social media must be used more effectively.
Well, not just China but the whole world needs to grow. I hope other countries also follow Chinese system for humanity and saving lives and especially our Bangladesh government should proper steps for organ donation system.
