Bhubaneswar: Odisha celebrated Good Friday amid strict guidelines of Covid-19. The festival was enthusiastically observed in churches across the state by the Christian community abiding by the strictures for Corona.
Though mass prayer in the chapel was banned on fear of a resurgence of Corona, people rendered social service, greeted each other, and offered alms to the poor, keeping up social distancing in their own family.
The Good Friday is observed before Easter to commemorate the day of the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. On this day Jesus Christ sacrificed his life out of love for everyone and while suffering for the sins of humanity.
