Publishing house Oitijjhya paid tribute to novelist and short story writer Manik Bandopadhyay publishing a collection of his poems.
The book titled Manik Bandopadhyay-er Kabita was published on Sunday marking the anniversary of the death of Manik Bandopadhyay, said a press release issued on Wednesday.
Earlier, Oitijjhya published a set of literary works of Manik Bandyopadhyay in 10 volumes.
Manik Bandyopadhyay is regarded as one of the major literary figures of 20th-century Bangla literature. Although he lived for only 48 years, he enriched Bangla literary treasure trove writing 34 novels and more than 250 short stories.
His notable works include Padma Nadir Majhi, Putul Nacher Itikatha, Shahartali, Janani, Diba Ratrir Kabya, Ahimsa, Darpan, Chatushkone, Pashapashi, Sarbojanin, Nagpash, Feriwala, Arogya, Haraf and Halud Nadi Sabuj Ban.
His popular short stories are Atashi Mami, Pragoitihashik, Mihi o Mota Kahini, Sarisreep, Bou, Samudrer Swad, Bhejal, Haludpora, Paristhiti, Khatian, Matir Mashul and others.
Manik Bandopadhyay-er Kabita is available at different outlets of Nirbachita, including Kataban, Uttara, Rajshahi, Khulna, Sylhet, Barishal, Cumilla and Jashore.
