Publishing house Oitijjhya is all set to publish the complete set of literary works of poet Farrukh Ahmad in nine volumes.
The publishing house signed an agreement with the poet’s son Syed Muhammad Wahiduzzaman on November 1, said a press release issued on December 3.
Professor Badiur Rahman, president of Bangladesh Udichi Shilpigosthi, is editing the volumes, which contain 3,500 pages.
Farrukh Ahmad earned acclaim for his poem ‘Lash’, written on famine. He also wrote satirical poems and sonnets.
Farrukh Ahmad’s literary works include Satsagarer Majhi, Sirazam Munira, Naufel o Hatem, Muhurter Kabita, Hatemtayi, Habida Marur Kahini, Pakhir Basa, Harafer Chhara and Chharar Asar.
For his contribution to Bangla literature, he received the Bangla Academy Award, Ekushey Padak and Independence Award.
