John Wilbert and Vikramaditya, Port Blair: The PRI members of Little Andaman have submitted an intimation to the Tehsilder of Little Andaman regarding staging of protest in front of the CCS Ltd, Hut Bay on 21st April 2022 at 10.00 AM to demand the regular supply of LPG cylinders for Little Andaman and copies of the intimation have been sent to all senior officers of Andaman and Nicobar Administration.
Since a long time the PRI members and General Public of Little Andaman have been demanding regular supply of LPG cylinders to Little Andaman but it seems there is no end to their sufferings.
Andaman Sheekha Daily spoke to the Secretary of CCS in this regard, who informed this press that CCS already has nearly 3500 LPG Cylinders for Little Andaman but due to unavailability of dangerous cargo ships, CCS is unable to transport LPG Cylinders to Little Andaman.
“Now with the support of Administration a private Cargo ship is ready to sail for Hutbay with 3500 LPG Cylinders, which will be loaded tomorrow. After loading the ship will immediately sail for Hut Bay,” the Secretary assured.
However, it seems that PRI members of Little Andaman are not happy with the assurances of CCS. Talking to Andaman Sheekha Mr. M Vasudevan Nair said that Little Andaman requires nearly 4000 LPG Cylinders per month and it is the duty of Administration to ensure regular supply of LPG Cylinders. He said that if things are not streamlined then there will be strikes and Chakka Jam at Little Andaman. News courtesy Andaman Sheekha
