Denis Giles, Port Blair: As a part of International Women’s Day celebration District Level Centre for Women (DLCW), under District Administration, South Andaman held a Felicitation Programme to recognize the efforts and contribution of Rural Women Entrepreneurs.
The women were felicitated by the Deputy Commissioner (SA) Shri. Suneel Anchipaka, ADM Shri Yash Choudhary, SDM Shri. Hari Kalikkat, AC (Settlement) Shri Prem Singh Meena, AC (HQ) Shri Singh Piyush Vijayakaran and other senior officers of District Administration. In addition to this the Deputy Commissioner (SA) also felicitated women Covid Warriors engaged during lockdown period.
Quoting Dr. B R Ambedkar “I measure the progress of the community by the degree of progress which women have achieved” the Deputy Commissioner, SA appreciated the women present and encouraged them to work harder.
The aim of this function was to encourage women workers who have significantly contributed from different walks of life with their outstanding work. @andamanchronicle
