Senior Reporter: The Ministry of Home Affairs has allowed the followers of Maulana Saad Kandhalvi of India to organize the second phase of the Bishwa Ijtema from 14 to 16 February.
However, the ministry has given a condition that the Saad followers will not be able to hold the Ijtema at the Ijtema ground in Tongi from next year (2026).
The Ministry of Home Affairs issued a circular in this regard on Tuesday (4 February).
According to the circular, the followers of Tablighi Jamaat Bangladesh’s Shura-e-Nizam, i.e. the followers of Maulana Mohammad Zubair, will complete the Ijtema on 5 February and hand over the Ijtema to the Maidan administration after Maghrib on 6 February.
Followers of Maulana Saad Kandhalvi of India will organize the second phase of the Bishwa Ijtema from 14 to 16 February. However, the condition is that after Maghrib on 18 February, the Saad followers will hand over the Ijtema ground to the administration, circular said.
Besides, from next year, the Saad faction will not be able to organise the Ijtema and conduct Tablighi activities at the Ijtema ground in Tongi.
