Can the Islanders Ever Expect a State-of-the-Art Hospital, With the Govt. Investing a Fortune on its Construction?
Denis Giles, Port Blair: To provide a positive upheaval to the medical facilities a state of the art district hospital was proposed and is presently under construction at Garacharma in Port Blair. The Island’s administration has taken quite a few steps to ramp up the health services however recently some speculations have arisen which put a big question mark on the ongoing construction of district hospital.
This district hospital is a large complex divided into phase -1 and 2, having an area of more than 10,000 sq.m. However, it has come to our knowledge that the design of this very building has various loopholes which pose a serious threat to the patients as well as the employees who will work in the building. @andamanchronicle
