A virtual conference titled “Online Higher Education in Bangladesh: Prospects and Challenges” organised by Faculty of Business Administration of BGC Trust University Bangladesh was held recently.
Chairman, Bangladesh House Building Finance Corporation & Chairman, Executive Committee of Islami Bank Bangladesh Limited and Professor, Accounting Department, University of Chittagong Professor Dr. Md. Salim Uddin presented a keynote paper at the conference.
The conference was presided over by Prof. Ranajit Kumar Dey, Dean, Faculty of Business Administration where Vice chancellor of BGC Trust University Bangladesh was present as chief guest.
Associate Prof Asif Mahbub Karim, Dean, Binary Graduate School, Binary University, Malaysia, Fazlul Rabbanee, Senior lecturer in the School of Marketing Curtin University, Australia, Lutfor Rahman, Senior Research Analyst , London UK, and Farid A. Sobhani, Professor, School of Business & Economics & Director-MBA & MIHRM Programs United International University, Dhaka, were also present.
As a keynote speaker Prof. Dr. Salim Uddin analyzed all the significant factors of online higher education by focusing the most on cardinal prospects and pragmatic challenges in the existing socio economic situation of Bangladesh.
Chief Guest Prof Saroj Kanti Singh Hazari stated despite crisis situation higher education and research are supposed to be continued for the betterment of the nation.
In addition to this he mentioned that some universities are conducting online education fruitfully during pandemic which is very much motivational for enhancing new dimensions in the quality higher education mechanisms.
